Aunt Alexandra loves Scout, but Scout definitely exasperates her. As an aunt, Alexandra expects her niece to be a little lady, not a tomboy. She also expects and wants her to be soft spoken, without opinions..... or at least without opinions that are voiced outloud for everyone to hear. Lastly, Alexandra wants Scout to live up to her old southern heritage, to be proud of who she is, and to in no way sully the Finch name. This means no swearing, no fighting, and an air of hautiness. Scout cannot comply.
