chapter 7. do the objects left in the Radley tree have any connection with the condition in which jem found his trousers: what do you begin to suspect about the Radley household?

During the course of the chapter, we easily come to infer that Boo is leaving the gifts for the children in the tree-hole. Boo also sewed, folded and returned Jem's pants. These acts are all acts of friendship on Boo's part, distant friendship, but friendship none-the-less.
