Sure, you know thane a look at the last chapter. So many are there from Scout. . Also take a look when Jem refuses to leave when the mob confronts Atticus.

Sorry, I meant take a look at the last chapter. So many are there from Scout. . Also take a look when Jem refuses to leave when the mob confronts Atticus.

" Atticus,' he said, Why don't people like us and Miss Maudie ever sit on juries? You never see anybody from Maycomb on a jury. They all come out in the woods.' "(Ch. 23; p. 221)

Jem maturing enough to question things....

" If there's just one kind of folks, why can't they get along with each other? If they're all alike, why do they go out of their way to despise each other?' "(Ch. 23; p. 227)

Jem speaking to Scout

"I drew bead on him, remembered what Atticus had said, then dropped my fists and walked away, 'Scout's a coward!' ringing in my ears. It was the first time I had ever walked away from a fight."(Ch. 9; p.76-77)

Scout refusing to fight

" No, everybody's gotta learn, nobody's born knowin'. That Walter's as smart as he can be, he just gets held back sometimes because he has to stay out and help his daddy. Nothin's wrong with him. Naw, Jem, I think there's just one kind of folks. Folks.' "(Ch.23; p.227)
