Finally Scout attacks Francis and Cecil for insulting Atticus. Both conflicts are part of Scout's maturation process. Her feisty nature is actually one of her most compelling traits. In many ways, Scout is a less refined version of her father. Scout slowly learns that there are ways of standing up for what is "right" other than in a violent or aggressive way.
