What is wrong with the mans plan to kill the dog, warm his hands in the dogs body and then start another fire?

The Dog hates him!

Nothing is wrong with the plan, men have used animal carcasses to stay warm under many circumstances....... but the dog has better instinct than the man, and he wasn't having any of it....

The dog is too scared to come close to him because he has been a jerk to it.
