Help does the narrators point of view develop the short stories tone?

The point of view is third person omniscient meaning that the narrator can go into the mind of any character. There are only two characters in the story, the man and do. The candid and unemotional tone of the narrator effectively juxtaposes the hubris of the man with the rational instinct of the dog.
