Explain how instinct plays a significant role in the story by the end of page 337. How does this concept affect the man and dogs relationship?

The dog relies on its instinct..... the man does not. Even when the man decides he might survive if he can kill the dog and use its warmth, the dog instinctually senses danger and makes it impossible for the man to catch him. In turn, the dog's trust in the man is severed.
