The men experience problems from the moment they decide to embark on their trip. They can't pack properly, they're late, and they cannot find the right train (ironically, neither can the railroad officials). Then, once they finally get on their way, they're unsure of how to put up their shelter, ruin their clothing by doing laundry in the river (silt), and even bungle the process of boiling water. They finally solve all these problems by cutting the boat trip short and taking a real vacation in their own town...... they settle for the sights of London and the fine cuisine.
