The narrator in this poem is yearns to see the love of his life again. The poem describes a situation in which the two lovers cannot be united. This cause considerable discomfort to the narrator, whose longing is the only theme for the whole poem. The narrator wants his love to free herself from her shackles, be it of society or family and come to him to consummate their love.

Beautiful woman - "There is a garden in Her Face"

The poem "There is a garden in Her Face" focusses on a lyrical description of the face of an extraordinarily beautiful woman. However, she is also a strong, independent woman who calls the shots in her life. The narrator describes that none may touch her cherry lips until she herself invites them in. This picture of the strong woman is enhanced through the description of her stern eyes that regard everyone with suspicion that come to close to her. Her beauty is divine, but so seems her temper.

Narrator - "Now Winter Nights Enlarge"

The narrator of "Now Winter Nights Enlarge" muses on the different stages of love, especially the ones that only happen in dark nights. They try to encourage the audience that while some things might not be your strength, some other lovely measures truly are. And the long nights of winter are the perfect time to discover things you did not know before about your lover. The narrator finishes the poem by a further encouragement to the audience, saying that while love sometimes can be tedious, it truly helps in making long nights short.
