What is your first impression of Clay's feelings for Hannah? Does this affect the ways he feels or thinks as he listen to the first tape?

My first impression is that Clay likes Hannah, but that's about as far as it goes. Clay says that he hardly knew her, but he would have liked to.... This definitely affects the way he feels when he listens to the first tape..... why he believes it to be a joke.... why the thought that the tapes are real makes him phyiscally sick.
