What option does Mr. Porter give Hannah? Are they helpful to her or to anyone else in similar situation?

Mr. Porter says that if it was not rape, she has two choices:

1.She can talk to the boy about what happened.
2. If she can't or won't talk to the boy, she needs to "move on" with her life.

I really can't say if these are helpful. I am not a girl and could not pretend to understand how a girl might feel in this situation.
