The priestess oracle, Agbala, takes the young Enzima, who is Ekwefi's and Okonkwo's child, into the dark night. Ekwefi follows as the Oracle takes the girl to nine villages before ending the journey at her cave. Ekwefi waits outside in the dark and then runs into Okonkwo, who waits with her for Enzima.
