What do the first two paragraphs of this chapter suggest are the reasons that Okonkwo begins to feel happy again?

Okonkwo's main reason for happiness was the clan's decision to go along with him in destroying the church. He actually wanted to destroy the white man (kill him) and exile all Christians, but the clan refused. Thus, he was happy with what he accomplished and considered it a victory.
