I'm not sure Okonkwo is a victim of circumstance. Okonkwo is a tragic hero. As defined by Aristotle a tragic hero is a character who is noble in nature, has a tragic flaw and discovers his fate by his own actions. Okonkwo would have self-destructed no matter what the circumstances. Similar to other tragic heroes, Okonkwo has a tragic flaw, which is a fear of weakness and failure. Okonkwo-pushes and imposes his insecurities on to others. Eventually people push back whether they be white man or people from his own clan.

In what why is okwonkwo a victim of circumstance in things fall apart

I'm pointing out that Okonkwo is not a victim of circumstance. The tragic flaws he has mean his demise was inevitable in any circumstance.
