One of the main traits of masculinity that Okonkwo believed in was control over others as well as control over destiny. He believed that all people must obey what he says in house and do what they were told. He also wanted his destiny to bend to his will which of course does not happen. Okonkwo believes that men do not show emotion or fear. Men are physically strong and stoic. In the end Okonkwo's very narrow view of masculinity is his undoing.
