Why do you think the author begins chapter five with the sentence

Why do you think the author begins chapter five with the sentence “On the train the next day, Joe didn’t make many speeches with rhymes to her…” Why is this sentence familiar?

Joe has her, they get on the train, and he no longer has to play with love rhymes to catch her attention or woo her..... the honeymoon....... well, it's over.
