What does the narrator’s description of the pattern show about her aesthetic sensibility

The narrator doesn't like the pattern but becomes obsessed with it. Her descriptions are short, choppy, and disjointed much like the narrator's thought process. The narrator's only sense of solace is the garden which is juxtaposed by the hideous wallpaper that envelopes her psyche.
