The Yellow Wallpaper

The narrator says, “Why, I wouldn’t have a child of mine, an impressionable little thing, live in such a room for worlds” in speaking of her bedroom. What is the IRONY of her calling the baby impressionable? The yellow wallpaper

The narrator is descending into madness. She becomes increasingly detached from her baby calling it an impressionable little thing rather than the baby's actual name. It is also ironic considering the narrator's own state of mind becoming more "impressionable" to madness as she spends more time in the room.
