The literary style of "The Yellow Wallpaper" is that of the "unreliable narrator." The story is told from a first-person perspective, with only one point-of-view. We can, however, be sympathetic to the narrator because she shows no malice towards her husband who has basically imprisoned her. We follow the narrator's mental anguish until she becomes dislodged from reality.
