How do the Scarecrow, Tin Woodman, and the Lion reveal that they already possess what they think they lack?

All three characters have kindness and empathy within them. They will do anything for Dorothy including risking their lives. This shows them to already possess the heart, brains, and courage that they seek throughout the story.
