How does Kit save Hannah from the wrath of the townspeople?

Kit hurried to Hannah's and got her out of her house before the mab arrived to burn it. She hid Hannah in the brush, and even intended to take her back to Unce Matthew's. That, however, wasn't necessary, as she ran into Nat along the way. Nat was able to safely transport Hannah to the Dolphin.
