Based on Mr. Ryder's ultimate decision to embrace Liza as his wife, what can we say about him?

The fact that Mr. Ryder not only accepts Liza Jane but introduces her as well, tells us that he is an honorable man, whe deserves our respect. Ryder had the choice to make, and he chose the "wife of his youth", rather than proceed with his intent to propose to Molly Dixon. He may have presented the situation to his guests, but his decision was his own. Note, I would afford Mr. Ryder even more respect if he would have revealed his identity to Liza Jane immediately.
