Turtle discovers that what they all initially believed was a mistake in the transposing of the will was actually a clue.

“The heir who wins the windfall will be the one who finds the… FOURTH.”

This section, which everyone believed was copied incorrectly, essentially provided Turtle with the information she needed to win the prize. The prize went to the heir who discovered Westing's fourth identity.
