Why does Ben Ross think that Robert is the only one to lose when the experiment ended?

Robert had finally found the acceptance that he craved before the Wave. For the first time in his school life, Robert felt like he "fit in" and was a part of something. After the experiment concluded, Robert would go back to being an outsider in school.
