Why did Mr. Ross named the experiment The Wave?

This is a question for the book "The Wave". Why did he name his experiment "The Wave"? Feel free to include own thoughts! :)

I think the title is appropriate. Mr. Ross begins with an idea: a small ripple. The idea gains momentum in the class and spreads to the school like a wave.
