The Wave

People tend to think that the characters in The Wave are generic "types" rather than fully fleshed out characters. Do you agree? Why or why not?

Strasser does generalise his characters. I think you might consider that The Wave was directed towards addolescent readers. Todd Strasser, the author, would have wanted teens to connect with character archetypes that they could easily identify and relate to. This gave the author room to develop his main themes of conformity ans peer preasure.
