that's a loaded question............... were they justified? Take the things you already know about the Nazi party and leadership, and then tell me if their actions were justified. The novel you're speaking of is an experiment into how easily the masses can be influenced............ just like what the Nazis did in Germany; none of it is justifiable, nor is it excusable. Could you be convinced by ANYONE to spy on your family or friends? Could you be convinced to blindly follow the desires of a leader and those who follow him?
