How does Lila show maturity in her decisions?

Lila shows maturity by facing her problems and taking on responsibilites for things she isn't prepared for. Lila is only thirteen, and yet, she takes on the responsibility of caring for her younger siblings, as well as all other tasks related to running a household. Her mother's illness requires that she grow up far too quickly, but Lila proves herself up to the challenge.
