The people of the television town do the same things every day. This lulls Truman into a sense of security and predictability. An insurance salesmen tries to sell him insurance, neighbors Dalmatian climbs on him, old men twins run into him.....I think Truman eventually wants to test these patterns when he becomes aware that something in his life is wrong.
