The Things They Carried

Would this be a good point?

We had a 10 pt. quiz. The qustion was why did O'Brien write the things they carried.

I said he wrote it because he wanted to tell us that, even when people die, thy can still live within us as ghosts (memories). Like how Lavendar, Linda, Bowker etc. still live within his novel.

I explained more...

Is this a desent answer or am i going to fail it?

Sure, I think that is one of the themes of the book. War is such an intense experience that the people he knew and the things he had seen remain embedded in his memory, they become a part of his very identity.
