The Tempest

prospero versus antonio

isn't it ironic that antonio usurps prospero's throne, but then Prospero lands on the island and steals it from Caliban?

yes. that would be the definition of irony, and it is a problem that Shakespeare hints at throughout the play. The real problem is that Prospero is too self-centered to realize the parallism between his plight and Caliban's.
