In what ways does Arthur, even as a young boy, show that he is a hero?

After Cully goes missing (the hawk), Arthur remains behind to recapture the bird while Kay (who lost him) goes home. 

Arthur does not reveal his activities with Merlin, he keeps them a secret as told.
