The author's writing style is very descriptive in every sentence. He explains all the different things that the character is feeling. He manages to put so much detail into the sentences while still making it flow. Camus uses imagery to paint the reader a picture and help the reader understand the character. If you examine the passage, and the book for that matter, the physical manifestations of the sun and the elements are symbolic of the pressures that he faces in his emotional life.
