"The Stranger", what is the theme or message?

I believe the story's main theme to be isolation. Meursault isolates himself from family, the abiltity to love, human emotion, the world around him, and eventually he is unable to connect to society at large in any logical way. This leads to another theme, which would be defined as absurdity.
