The Stranger

Did existentialism influence Camus to write The Stranger?

I believe that it did, maybe Camus was still struggling to find purpose in his life.

If you have any different views on the subject, please reply.

Yeah, I've read on Wikipedia, or something, that although he wrote a masterpiece that many people consider the existentialist novel, he negates the statement. But psychologically taken, although he says he IS NO existentialist, I think existentialism had a large influence on Camus, because he's writing about the absurdity of human existence.
