Why was Helen always haunted by a sense of uneasiness and disquietude?

Helen was upset about the controversy over "The Frost King". She found it hard to write. She feared that she would later discover that the ideas were not her own. To help her get past this, her teacher gave her an assignment to write the story of her own life – Helen was then 12 – for a magazine called Youth's Companion.
