The role of chorus in kyd The Spanish tragedy

As far as I recall the function of the Chorus in this play was to fill us in on what happened before the play started. Unlike your standard Greek drama, The Spanish Tragedy only had a two member chorus. I think it was a ghost and Revenge. They bring us up to speed via flashbacks rather than becoming involved with the action.
