Some time after the events of the novel, the librarian finds a picture that seems to be Caddy posing with a Nazi general. It suggests the depths that Caddy might have dropped to after being forced to leave her family. Then again, the librarian's claim could just as well indicate the low reputation Caddy has, and might not be true.
