Lily sees the jar of honey in the store. The bottles had the exact black Madonna in her mother's picture. Lily takes this as a sign of the "mystery of the world". She recalls how, at night, the bees had come to her room. She hears her mother's voice in her head, "Lily Melissa Owens, your jar is open". This brings lily full circle back to the stoor staring at the jars of honey in front of her; she wonders if, perhaps, things are more connected than she thought.
