By the end of Chapter 19, we see that Lady Blakeney is making a concerted effort to repair the damage in her marriage. She attempts to explain her actions in regard to the St. Cyr family, even when she is exposed to her husband's coldness. At the end of the chapter, she becomes aware of who her husband really is..... the ring turns the tables even further and alows her to comprehend his actions, even if he doesn't yet understand her own.
