Brogard was rude to his guests. He didn't find it necessary to treat anyone differently because of their fine dress, in fact, it gave him an excuse neglect them. He served their food and left, smoked directly next to them while they dined, and took his time answering their questions. Marguerite and Sir Andrew were treated as if they were freeloaders rather than paying guests.
