How do the other children treat Pearl? What is Pearl’s response?

Pearl seems very much an embodiment of unfettered id. She has no interest in playing with other children and can be violent towards them. They often tease her but Pearl really scares them with her independent spirit. Pearl sticks up for herself quite well.
