The Road

Pick a conflict and explain how this conflict was central to the story's development.

How do you feel about how the character dealt with the conflict? How does this pertain to the real world? Consider this saying, "Conflict brings out the best and worst in humanity", how does this relate to the novel?

I love how the two main characters progressed through the conflict. The father shows stoicism simply for his son. He keeps his son alive because he is the only good left in the world, If he ( son) is not the word of God never spoke. The boy is very much a Christ figure. He deals with the apocalypse patiently and quietly. He looks for good in the world that seems filled with the vestiges of evil from a humanity that is dead. The boy certainly gets scared but he bares his fears like a cross upon his back in the hope that some goodness in the world still exists.
