Best Answer: they behave rudely first. They changed thier minds three times. They were all superstitious and believe on gog

At first, the other sailors were furious with the Mariner for having killed the bird that made the breezes blow. But when the fog lifted soon afterward, the sailors decided that the bird had actually brought not the breezes but the fog; they now congratulated the Mariner on his deed.

I believe it was three time; the first is cited above, the second was at nightime when they dreamt of the spirit, and the third was when they cursed him upon their deaths.
