What does the dead soldier tell you about how 'violent' this story really is?

The dead soldier's body is rotting and completely disgusting. Nature obviously does not care at all about humans and the way in which humans live. There is no respect here for human life and no way of looking at the dead human as anything except a bunch of flesh and bones.
