War is hell. Generations of youths forced to go into the fires of war understand what Henry is going through. When it comes down to it, most everybody doesn't want to die. In the heat of battle, grown men weep and run. Check out any good war novel like "All Quiet on the Western Front" and the stories are similar. The death and destruction and blood rattle Henry while, at the same time, become a badge of courage.
