At the end of Chapter 5, what does the description of nature show Henry ? What is nature's " attitude" toward the battles being waged?

At the end of Chapter Five, Henry note the tranquility of the nature around him.... how nature is unaffected by the wars of men. Nature's attitude is ambiguous.... life goes on, even in the face of destruction and death.

As he gazed around him the youth felt a flash of astonishment at the blue, pure sky and the sun gleamings on the trees and fields. It was surprising that Nature had gone tranquilly on with her golden process in the midst of so much devilment.
