What surprised you most about the end of the book? Do you agree with what Goldman says about endings and about the fairness of life? Why or why not?

I can only write on the film version.

That’s fine, how was it on the film version

There is the happily ever after motif that is essential with fairy tales. The story ends with the protagonists "winning" and silencing the evil. This seems to follow the tone and themes of the narrative.
