Do you think that this was an appropriate poem for an inauguration(JFK)?

Best Answer: Yes, I do believe that it was appropriate. Kennedy took office duting a time of civil unrest, a time when race and culture fought to become at one with with our nation, when a group of people sttod up to take their place as Americans...... period.

The Gift Outright has many patriotic themes, and it touchws on how colonists arriving in America struggled to become one with the land. Eventually, they carved a national identity as Americans, just like African Americans strove to do with the Civil Rights Movement that was such a part of Kenndy's presidency.
