Robert Frost: Poems

If someone who has not a poet wanted to say what frost expresses in "mending wall", he or she would most probably say,

a. Walls may not be necessary, but they can't hurt

b. People should never build walls

c. People ought to think carefully before they build walls

I think A is the best choice. "Good fences make good neighbors" means that the walls, although not necessary, do help build relatioonships between people who might have conflict.
